Dear Brother Knights,

October is quickly approaching, and it prepares us for the Month of the Rosary. A reminder that the Living Rosary has been changed to Wednesday, October 3 instead of Monday, October 1. We will be reciting it on the church grounds. Also that night, we will have a special “Blue Mass” to honor the Firemen and Police Officers who perished in September 11. In addition, we will be honoring Our Military who gave their lives for freedom.

On October 6, the Second Annual Pastoral Golf Tournament will be held at Forest Oak Golf Club on Lake Worth Road. The tournament will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. I am looking forward to a fun and leisurely day. Come join Father Andy and Father Yves in a round of golf.

The Blood Mobile will be at Our Parish on October 7. Please stop by from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to donate a pint of life saving blood. Your help is very much needed and appreciated.

Our next blessed event is the 40-hours of Devotion which will be held on October 13, 14, 15, and 16. Come and spend some time with Our Lord.

Our Annual Spelling Bee is coming up on October 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Festival Hall. I would like to thank Steven Autenrieb for chairing this event for the past two years. If anyone is interested in participating, please contact Steve at 793-0550.

On October 25, we will be celebrating a special mass at 7:30 p.m. for our parish priests. This is to acknowledge and reinforce the special bond between the Knight of Columbus and our priests. Over 125 years ago when our Order began, Father McGivney maintained strong relationships with the Knights, and now we would like to show our gratitude to Father Andy and Father Yves for all they do. I invite all of my brothers and your families to this mass.

The resolution to pay $10,000 toward our pledge goal of $50,000 for the Foundation of the Apostles New Church Building Fund was voted on and passed at the July General meeting.

The recipient must be a practicing Catholic of the Palm Beach Diocese and a child, grandchild or sibling of a member in good standing of the K of C. The recipient must be accepted as a full time student at a Catholic grammar school, high school or college and be enrolled in the school year immediately following award notification of the scholarship.
