SCHOLARSHIP PROCEDURE

If you are interested in applying for the Knights of Columbus (K of C) Council 12376 memorial scholarship with a minimum award of $500, read the instructions below.

The purpose of our scholarship program is to benefit worthy Catholic students who are related to a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 12376 (member must be in good standing) and wish to attend a Catholic grammar school, high school or college. The scholarship will be awarded based on a lottery drawing by the Scholarship Committee. All applications received prior to April 1st are eligible for the lottery.

The recipient must be a practicing Catholic and a child, grandchild or sibling of a member in good standing of the K of C Council 12376. The recipient must be accepted as a fulltime student at a Catholic grammar school, high school or college and be enrolled in the school year immediately following award notification of the scholarship.

Receipt of a scholarship or entry into a program that pays full tuition, room and board at any school will not make an applicant ineligible. The awarded scholarship will be mailed directly to the school bursar of choice with instructions that they may be used for any expenses processed through the bursars’ office. Scholarship recipients who are accepted and decide to attend another Catholic school, other than the original selected, must immediately notify the K of C Scholarship Committee so the funds may be transferred to the appropriate Catholic school. Unused funds must be returned to K of C Council 12376 upon either of the following occurrences:

a. The recipient ceases to attend classes for whatever reason and does not immediately transfer to another Catholic School, or

b. The recipient withdraws from school and does not transfer immediately to another Catholic school.

All funds returned to K of C Council 12376 will either be awarded to an alternate applicant or incorporated with funds available for the next year’s award.
